Smile for London
Smile for London was a project that produced a set of intriguing short films shown on the London Underground. The shorts featured poetry set to animation, with the aim of cheering up commuters.
We produced a film based on a poem by Benjamin Zephaniah entitled ‘Who’s Who’; illustrating the words using type made from modelling balloons to echo the themes of childhood within the poem. The final film was voiced by the poet himself.
I used to think nurses were women,
I used to think police were men,
I used to think poets were boring,
Until I became one of them.
